Join us in singing and chanting the praises of Hanumanji
followed by prasad This satsang is sponsored by the Venkat Family.

Hanuman Chalisa is a very well known prayerful glorification of
Sri
Hanumanji. It is called Chalisa because it has forty verses in Chaupai form. This stuti has been written by Goswami Tulsidas of Sri Ramcharitmanasa fame. Invoking the grace of Hanumanji paves the way for being blessed by strength, loving and inspired service, fearlessness, devotion, and finally the darshan of God and the blessing of Self-Knowledge.

SHIVALAYA  DIWALI PROGRAM

Pooja, Kirtan, Satsang, Prasad

Sunday October 19

4.30pm – 6.30pm

Chinmaya Shivalaya Ashram

Program: Pooja, Kirtan, Satsang, Prasad

Diwali or Deepavali brings to our minds images of rows and rows of colorful glittering lights that carry with them strong and powerful messages of joy, love, hope, and strength.

Like most festivals in Hindu Culture, Diwali celebrates the victory of good over evil. It is the day when Lord Rama defeated Ravana and Lord Krishna defeated Naraka Asura. Their return home is celebrated lavishly with a multitude of festivities that open our hearts to the excitement of happy moments and even more to the Divine presence within.
When our mind turns towards the Infinite Self, the sense of limitation, our selfishness ends. To celebrate the light of Supreme knowledge, Lamps of Joy are lit. At night we invite Mother Lakshmi and invoke Her grace by asking Her for abundance for the coming year and to shower Her blessings upon us all:

Give us the intelligence to use our wealth in the right manner.

Fill our hearts with Love and eagerness to share with our fellow beings.

Wishing you and your family a Peaceful & Prosperous, Fun-filled & Fulfilled, devoted Diwali.

Please join us in welcoming the Lord of our hearts. Let us celebrate together with kirtan, satsang, and prasad.

In the service of the Lord,

Swamini Shivapriyananda

At home you were always taught to tell the truth. Now, your boss wants you to conceal facts or stretch the truth. What should you do? Lie? Get angry? Or stand up for the truth and possibly lose your job? In the workplace we often have to make decisions that conflict with our core values. Making the right decision is not always pleasant, nor easy. But what is the right choice? What factors govern our decisions so that the outcome will result in lasting happiness and is beneficial to every one? Living according to universal values, such as honesty and integrity, at home and at the workplace is the topic of this book.
