Niagara Falls Dinner Fundraiser - March 31
We are proud to announce that the Chinmaya Family is expanding!! Right on our doorsteps! Niagara Falls is buying a building for a Chinmaya Mission Center in their neighbourhood and organized a fund raiser for the purchase. It was a very successful night and we look forward to watching this new center grow..

Bal Vihar Teachers Training - September 23rd and 24th
Darshanaben, the Acharya of Chinmaya Houston Center and also director of the Bal Vihar program for Chinmaya Mission West, offered us an invaluable weekend workshop. Her dedication and inspiration together with her immense knowledge and experience added significant value in helping us understand how to impart to our children our rich heritage and value based living.

Swami Chinmayananda on Mahashivaratri:
“Just as at night when the darkness arrives, every object becomes imperceptible to the human eye, a time when the world of plurality is covered from our awareness, such moments of pure infinite subjective experience are that which is indicated by Shivaratri.

The ability, inherent in us, to destroy an undesirable thought in us is the Shiva-Shakti, the spirit of detachment. Invoking this power-divine, we with the grace of Shiva progress on our march from imperfections to perfection.

May Shiva’s grace be upon all during the Shivaratri celebrations.”

Nov 23 - 27: Swami Ishwarananda's Yagna in Ottawa
Heart of Bhagavad Geeta (Evening Talks)
Pujya Swami Ishwarananda took selected topics from the Bhagavad Geeta to show how inner wisdom can enable us to maintain mental balance while dynamically working and living in the world.

Mind in Meditation (Retreat)
Swami Ishwarananda took us through the thought process necessary to gain control of our inner world. Swamiji first showed us the logic behind meditation and then taught us specific techniques for our daily use.

OCTOBER

October 16 - 22 - Swami Ishwarananda's Yagna
Swamiji's first visit to Toronto was truly memorable for CMT. The adults, youth and children thoroughly enjoyed the satsang and time spent with Swamiji. He is a strong source of inspiration for all ages. We look forward to his next visit.

June 12 - The Annual Bal Vihar Performance and Mela on June 12th was a Huge Success!
The children and teachers put together a fantastic performance for all parents. The children showcased their learnings from the past year and all age groups participated with enthusiasm. There was a lovely mela complete with delicious foods and fun games.

June 1-11 - Satsang with Swami Prakashananda
We had a wonderful week of Satsang with Swamiji during his visit in Toronto. Swamiji spoke on inspiring topics during his sessions with the adults and CHYKs. We also celebrated Swamiji taking sanyaas (he is formerly known as Br. Prem).
